Help Us Help Haiti

February 15th, 2010

There’s an old latin inscription that reads “Nemo vir est qui mundum non reddat meliorem.” To those of you who don’t speak latin that means “What man is a man who does not make the world better?” At Magntize we wonder the same thing about businesses.

That’s why every penny we make from new signups in the month of February is going to the Red Cross to help ease the suffering of those effected by the earthquake in Haiti. Help us help Haiti.

If you haven’t upgraded then signup and follow the simple steps below.

  • log into the admin panel at magntize.com
  • select the “Account” tab
  • click “Upgrade My Account”.
  • Thanks for helping us make the world a better place.

    What’s Next At Magntize?

    December 22nd, 2009

The last few months have been a blast here at magntize. We were featured in mashable, grew to over 3,000 users, handled hundreds of support requests, and in the midst of the craziness we kept smiling. Not bad.

Looking ahead to the early part of 2010 we’re looking to add some basic analytics for pro users as well as roll out a few new themes. Below is a preview of one that’s in the oven now.

    Merry Christmas!

    Meet magnt

    May 31st, 2009

Recently, we shocked the world with news that Nectar would be changing its name. In a move dubbed brilliant and lazy in equal measure, we asked our readers to submit their ideas with the promise of a $100 Amazon gift card to sweeten the pot. Three weeks and dozens of submissions later, we had narrowed it down to a few favorites.

    May 5th, 2009

Due to some recent trademark issues with our name, Nectar, we’re having to undertake the task of renaming ourselves. Yes that’s right, come the end of May Nectar will no longer be well, Nectar. Needless to say we weren’t too thrilled when this news first reached our ears. However, after the initial disappointment we’ve become quite excited about the idea of including our community in the renaming process. Before I discuss how we’d like you to help, let me give a little background on why we chose the name Nectar in the first place. While leaving the Dallas Startup Happy Hour, a few of us Nectar peoples ran into what looks like the first of likely many rejections to come. Feel free to watch the tale of sorrow and woe unfold after the jump.

    October 15th, 2008

So today is Blog Action Day 2008 and we’re encouraging everyone to support Compassion International and Ten Thousand Homes as they fight poverty.  My wife and I have personally supported Compassion International (Jeanne Pierre from Peru) for a few years now and it’s been a wonderful experience.
